I am a developer at Cliqz, working on anti-tracking and other privacy-preserving aspects of the web browser.

At Cliqz we built a new approach to countering online tracking, targetting the user identifiers which are used to link together user profiles on the server side [paper]. Having acquired Ghostery this year, we are combining this approach with their database on trackers and their owners.

We aim to increase the awareness and transparency around online tracking with studies highlighting particularly shocking cases, for example in online banking or on the website of political parties. Our soon-to-be-launched Tracking the Trackers website will provide a constant monitor on the extent of online tracking and where it can be found.
